Bio:

Bob Downs states that family law is about good people going through bad times. Professionalism and civility are important core values to Bob Downs and his firm. We believe in telling clients the truth. There are no unrealistic expectations. Family law is an area that demands caring, responsive law services to assist the parties and their children though the process. Every case is a team effort for the firm, which includes Robert K. Downs, the first family lawyer in 20 years to become President of the Illinois State Bar Association; his wife and partner, Barbara A. Downs, who also holds an LLM in taxation; of counsel, Wayne Jarvis, Associate, Julie Neubauer along with a highly qualified support staff. We take time to educate clients on the mechanics of their case and involve them in the process. The firm believes that a constructive and civil approach to divorce best serves clients and their families. For us, it’s not about determining which parent is unfit, but saying which parent better addresses the child’s needs while allowing the other to continue a relationship with the child after divorce. Our goal is to get people through this period with the least damage possible and a positive outlook.
