Bio:
Steven R. Lake is the senior partner of Lake Toback, a matrimonial and family law firm in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Lake has authored numerous articles and nationally published books which include: Hearts & Dollars: How to Beat the High Cost of Falling In and Out of Love,” and “Rematch: Winning Legal Battles with Your Ex” He is currently working on his latest book, “When the Vows Break.” He has provided instruction on and authored chapters for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education (IICLE), including “Child Custody Litigation”, “Winning Crucial Preliminary Motions” and “Matrimonial Law Skills." He currently serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He is scheduled to lecture for this year’s continuing education seminar “Advanced Discovery and Evidence in Matrimonial Cases” sponsored by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Mr. Lake also served for two consecutive terms as the chairman of the Academy’s National Bench and Bar Committee. Mr. Lake is an active member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Family Law Section Council, Chicago Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Mr. Lake was selected as an Illinois Leading Lawyer and named a Super Lawyer by his peers. He has received national media attention for high-profile cases, including many professional athletes and sports and media figures.
